Jim oversaw the establishment of STA’s receivables management division, which proved to be one of the company’s key growth engines. He also led STA International’s diversification into subscription insurance market collection services. Jim was at the forefront of developing the processes and technology to support these initiatives, some of which are unique in the collection industry. At the same time, he was careful to preserve and cultivate in STA’s personnel the very traditional person-to-person skills that are key to effective cash collection and customer service.

Jim served as Chief Operating Officer of STA International’s US operation 2007-08, until his return to the UK. A regular speaker and trainer, he enjoys few things more than passing on his enthusiasm for the profession of credit management, and seeking to raise its profile in the business community.
